About Sanibel Island Cameras

Sanibel’s live cameras give you a real-time look at what the island feels like before you leave the house, cross the causeway, or commit to a beach day. The beach cams show current Gulf views from different spots around Sanibel and Captiva, while the traffic and street cameras help you gauge flow at the causeway and key island intersections.

They’re especially useful for trip planning because conditions can look very different depending on the time of day. Morning is usually the best time to check beach cameras if you want a feel for water color, cloud cover, and whether the shoreline looks calm enough for a relaxed beach setup. In the afternoon, the causeway and street views become more valuable because that’s when return traffic and island bottlenecks are more likely to matter.

If you’re building out the rest of your day, pair these live views with our current conditions, compare beach access in our beaches guide, check logistics in the parking guide, and find backups or add-ons in things to do.
